The PetCo Foundation Sponsors Lake Shore’s “Dog’s Night Out”

Lake Shore Animal Shelter and all the dogs are excited to announce that PetCo Foundation has taken the Presenting Sponsor position this year!

PetCo Foundation was instituted in 1999 and has since raised more than $37 million
to promote a wide variety of charitable and educational programs nationwide.  They are also involved in promoting responsible pet care, educating elementary age children through their KIND News, distributed to 1000 schools in partnership with the Humane Society of United States. One of Lake Shore Animal Shelter’s programs, Teaching Kindness, mirrors these core values, and uses books and a show-and-tell approach to inform local school children.

Each year Lake Shore works to find underwriting for Dog’s Night Out. This important annual event raises between one-third and one-half of medical budget needs.  Lake Shore’s mission could not be fulfilled without the generosity of organizations like PetCo Foundation and all the wonderful people in Chicagoland who make it a point to attend this social event of the season—the dog version of Gatsby-esque excess!  It is the one evening in the year where you can bring your dog, and friends, to share a lovely evening of cocktails, smooth jazz, dinner, pet contests and prizes, and the dogs are the stars of the evening!  And all that fun ends up helping less fortunate dogs get medically rehabbed, re-trained and re-homed!
