Lake Shore is Moving Down
the Road Saturday, June 27! Lake Shore wants the
very best for their adoptable furry friends, and positions them in a daycare
facility so that they can have their own scheduled free playtime and
socialization, making their shelter experience as stress free as possible. Lake Shore animals are treated like pets
from the time they arrive, and those who are not quite ready for prime time are
placed in foster homes. They get the
same medical care as if they were our own.
All this attention makes the transition time before re-homing easier on
them, and on their future adopting families. One of the hazards of
leasing is that there is always the possibility that you can lose your lease. In Lake Shore’s 43 years in business--as one
of the first No-Kill shelters in the Nation and probably one of the very few truly
all-volunteer organizations that can claim such a long history--this is a first
for us. Not bad, when you think about
it. We really appreciate
all the support from those in our field, like Anti-Cruelty and Tree House, who
kindly offered space should we need a place for dogs. Luckily, we had a couple of more permanent
offers, but it’s worth mentioning that we work with a lot of great people and
organizations! |
